What Can i expect?

Like psychotherapy or physical therapy, yoga therapy relies on a therapeutic relationship. This involves thoughtful listening and tailoring the practice to the subtleties of each individuals needs.

Therapeutic Yoga is not confined to the psychological or physical. Instead, it uses traditional yogic models to look at the whole person. This may mean looking at the koshas, or layers of self, which include the physical, energetic, emotional, wisdom, and spiritual parts of our being. Therapeutic Yoga addresses the underlying root causes of our pain and suffering, which are often subtle and rooted.

In a typical one-on-one yoga therapy session, you could expect:

  • A thorough intake inquiring into your medical history, along with your physical, mental, energetic, and spiritual needs.

  • An analysis of your breath, posture, gait, and various yoga poses.

  • Physical poses chosen and adapted for your needs.

  • Breathing, meditation, and relaxation practice.

  • Home practice direction

Do I focus on a specific condition/s?

No, individual or group sessions can cover a broad spectrum of wellness care, such as: depression, seasonal affective disorder (SAD), trauma or anxiety; stress reduction and management; wellness care during and after an injury/surgery or disease; respiratory, digestive and circulatory health; osteoporosis and other issues.

What I do not offer:

I do not diagnose pathologies, illnesses or injuries, nor do I prescribe a treatment, medication or use talk therapy. If this is what you are seeking, please use a licensed practitioner, such as a medical doctor, psychiatrist, psychologist or social worker.

What is the cost of services?

I believe in the value of service, and I also understand the role that payment plays in our economy. But I’ve never quite subscribed to the “pay to play” approach. My life has operated differently, and, so far, my needs have always been met. I choose to live simply and trust that I’ll continue to be provided for.

With that in mind, my service fees are entirely voluntary. It’s up to you.

I offer sessions at no charge to some people, and I trade services with others. I’ve been compensated by many as well. This isn’t a “strategy” — it’s simply how I feel most at peace.

If this approach resonates with you, feel free to book a session. If it feels uncomfortable or you’d prefer a different arrangement, let’s have a conversation and agree on a solution that works for both of us.

Notes:

• I offer virtual sessions, though my preference is for in-person work.

• I work from a studio space in my home but am also available for travel.

• Sessions typically last between 75-90 minutes, tailored to your specific needs.

• Corporate and group sessions are available.
